About Andrea: her horse Paritjaett

Russian Thoroughbred, dark bay gelding, 1.68m, born 1994, Pechota (m) x Arlekin (s)
Andrea Bethge's Pari  Andea Bethge's Pari

I found Pari at a horse dealer in 2002, when Pari was already 8 year old. With me at that time was Friedrich Dreyer, a relatively successful breeder of Hanoverians with several of his horses sent to the famous Verden Auction. He told me: „if you buy that one, I’m going to feel sorry for you. You won’t even win a flower pot with that one“.
He had Kissing Spines, chronic bronchitis, was cribbing, his walk was hurried and short, his trot was unrhythmic. He did have a good canter.

Even today Pari is one of the most easily spooked and mistrusting, hysteric horse I’ve come across. However, anyone watching us would never be able to tell because of our trust in each other. He is now a content and happy horse and if he does get tense, it’s only in the walk. His back is now strong and the spinous processes of his vertebra don’t rub against each other anymore. His lung has recuperated and only the cribbing has stuck around.
The scores for his walk have changed from 3’s to 7’s, his trot scores range in the 7’s and 8’s and his canter in the 8’s and 9’s. And he is still improving at a steep pace. By now he’s schooling extremely successfully at Grand Prix level.
