When exploring facilities in the US, Andrea felt that her emphatic dressage trainig and teaching style would fit right in with to the overall feel of The City and the compassionate, professional, and open minded residents that embody the greater San Francisco area. She thus chose Wyvern Farm in the Christie Valley west of Martinez, California, because of it's sophistication, beautiful setting and their concern for the horse's mental state.
Wyvern Farm is a private, 26-stall, full-care dressage training facility. Their goal is to create an atmosphere that assists the clients in achieving their riding goals and to provide personalized care for every horse.
Riding facilities include a 40 meter covered arena with sand/rubber footing and full mirrors, an outdoor all-weather 60 meter dressage court and a 60-foot lungeing arena. The varied terrain surrounding the farm provides many opportunities for pleasure riding and conditioning to enhance each horse’s training program. Access to the newly-opened 800 acre Fernandez Ranch property of the Muir Heritage Land Trust is a short ride away.
Full-care board includes three feedings per day with supplement service, and turnout in one of eight safely-fenced turnout paddocks. The physical and mental well-being of the horses is a top priority. To assist in keeping our horses in peak physical condition, we are pleased to provide services by highly respected specialists in equine massage, chiropractic and acupuncture as well as injury and rehabilitation therapy utilizing electro-acuscope and myopulse microcurrent technology.
